Igoumenitsa is a small city extended around a natural bay. To the west it is bordered by the sea and to the east by a beautiful small spinney. It is a city that gives to its residents a very good quality of life and its visitors a very beautiful experience of stay. One day in Igoumenitsa could include coffee, drink and food in the coastal road of city, at the famous “platania”, walk around the shops, stop to the archaeological museum to admire the permanent exhibition “Thesproton Country” or even to the “House of Rena, Memories, Tradition, Culture” with the unique exhibition of folklore objects from the daily life of the people in Thesprotia in the past. You can also enjoy a bicycle ride on the cycle lane of the city, a unique 5 km way next to the sea, in the nature that leads to the unique, well organised, beaches for bathers Drepano and Makrygiali with lots of beach bars and extreme sports.

During summer season there are a lot of events and exhibitions taking place at the “Pantheon” Hall and at the cultural summertime there are various events that honour the customs of region, art and spectacles in general. All over Thesprotia you can visit several places of great religious, natural and ancient interest such as the Monasteries of Ragiou and Gyromeriou, the Delta of Kalamas river, the Kalodiki swamp, the archaeological place of Ragioy tower, the Tomb of Parapotamos, ancient Elina, the Castle of Igoumenitsa, the Roman Villa in Ladochori, Lygia, the Roman Cemetery in Mazarakia,  watermills of Margariti and Fanoti. Finally the prefecture is full of beautifully coastal hamlets, some of them quiet and graphic as Plataria and Sagiada and other noisy and touristic but equally beautiful as Sybota and Parga.

There are also other villages of distinct interest as Paramythia and Foiniki.
